Davido to Perform at FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles

By Admin June 3, 2026 18 Views

Nigerian music star Davido is set to perform at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles on June 10 at 6 p.m. PT, in a cross-continental music event connecting audiences in Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Toronto. The concert, organised in partnership with Recording Academy, forms part of early global celebrations leading up to the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The event will be broadcast live and also streamed on TikTok, with tickets having gone on sale from June 3. Organisers say the show is designed to merge football culture with global music, highlighting how the World Cup continues to expand its cultural footprint beyond sport into entertainment and digital engagement.

Davido, who previously performed during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, is expected to deliver some of his biggest international hits, including “Unavailable” and “Fall,” both of which have played a major role in pushing Afrobeats further into mainstream global markets. His appearance reinforces FIFA’s growing emphasis on African and diaspora music in its global programming.

A spokesperson involved in the production described the concert as “a synchronized celebration of football and global sound,” noting that the multi-city format is intended to reflect the shared anticipation building across host nations ahead of 2026.

Beyond the Los Angeles countdown concert, Davido is also scheduled to headline the FIFA Fan Festival in Atlanta, running from June 12 through July 15. He will perform alongside American artists CeeLo Green and Nappy Roots, in what organisers say will be one of the flagship entertainment hubs of the tournament buildup.

The FIFA Fan Festival series has become a central feature of recent World Cups, blending live screenings of matches with concerts, cultural showcases, and fan engagement activities. The Atlanta edition is expected to draw international attention, particularly as the United States prepares to host a large portion of the 2026 tournament.

With Afrobeats continuing its global surge and football’s biggest stage approaching, Davido’s dual appearances signal a growing intersection between African music and global sporting events. Industry observers say the collaboration underscores how the World Cup is evolving into a broader entertainment platform, not just a football tournament.

As countdown events continue across host cities, organisers are expected to announce additional performers and programming in the coming weeks, further building momentum toward what is being billed as the most expansive FIFA World Cup in history.
